The 2024 AACB/RCPA Harmonisation Workshop will be held on the 24th and 25th of July 2024. Hybrid online registration will again be an option this year for those that want to hear updates on the latest recommendations for clinical chemistry. For those with a specific interest in presentation topics we encourage face to face attendance and encourage questions, comments and debate around presentations to ensure relevant and useful harmonisation guidelines.
Key topics for this year include:
- Reference intervals and bias assessment – Latest mathematical and QAP tools, review of 2014 recommendations, detailed review of challenging analytes including Alkaline Phosphatase, ferritin, neonatal bilirubin
- Endocrinology updates – HEDT, IGF1 intervals, gestational diabetes/pre-analytical glucose, insulin, macroprolactin
Informatics update
- Accreditation update (NATA/HPAAC) including review of newly released assay Verification guidelines
- Short updates, including sweat chloride, Sampson equation for LDL, bile acids

The 1.5 day hybrid workshop starts with lunch on Wednesday (for in-person delegates) from 1115, for a 12noon AEST program start. The program includes interaction from both online and in-person delegates.
An optional dinner on Wednesday night will be held at our local Indian Restaurant, Curry Crazy. $55pp banquet menu.
