Dr. Joris Delanghe (MD [Ghent University, 1982], PhD [Ghent University, 1989]) specialised in clinical laboratory medicine (training in Bruges, Leuven, Ghent, Stuttgart). He is an author/ co-author of 600+ papers and 25 book chapters on various aspects of clinical laboratory medicine and a promoter of 28 PhD theses. Dr. Delanghe’s major research interests are plasma proteins, kidney function, urinalysis and glycation. He is a professor of clinical chemistry at Ghent University (Belgium) since 1994, and, since 2003, the editor-in-chief of Clinica Chimica Acta.
