Public Comment - National Pathology Accreditation Scheme

Last day before submissions close!

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, in collaboration with the RCPA and the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), is undertaking a two-staged consultation of the pathology sector on the National Pathology Accreditation Scheme.

The Commission is seeking feedback from the pathology sector, specifically pathology laboratories and anyone involved in the accreditation process for pathology laboratories.

The consultation aims to:

  • Understand the pathology sector’s perspective on the accreditation scheme
  • Understand what part of the accreditation scheme is of value to laboratories
  • Identify barriers and enablers associated with the accreditation scheme
  • Identify what support laboratories may require to obtain and retain accreditation

Information from this consultation process will be used to inform changes to the accreditation scheme. Read the factsheet below for an overview of the National Pathology Accreditation Scheme.
