Public Comment - Medical Services Advisory Committee Preeclampsia Tests Submissions

Public submissions are invited on the application to Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) for MBS funding of preeclampsia markers.

The Tests

Both tests aim to predict pre-eclampsia and thereby minimise the harm this condition can cause mothers and their babies.

The first test is the first trimester ultrasound-based screening test

The second test is the Preeclampsia Ratio (PERT) sFlt-1/PlGF blood test for use in the latter half of pregnancy.

The public comment process

MSAC takes into account the views of relevant stakeholders (including health professionals, professional organisations, and those with lived experience of preeclampsia) via an online public consultation process.

The public consultation period for these two is via a downloadable form, and submit it to the secretariat as per the instructions on the form.
